To one of the greats

May 8, 2012

For anyone who once was, still is, or some day will be a young person:

Just a few months ago, Maurice Sendak was interviewed by Terry Gross at NPR’s Fresh Air. They discussed his upcoming (and what would be his final) book, writing, aging, death, religion, and reflections on his life. The touching discourse is deeply sad and also incredibly inspiring, and it’s really worth a listen if you haven’t heard it:

Mr. Sendak will be missed. With any luck, we’ll soon get another artist half as prolific.
