Too much?

February 26, 2012

I.

The TV adaptation of
“The Walking Dead” jumped
the shark the day Season 2
started.

II.

Every new job is tolerable
and even enjoyable the first
week. Maybe the first year.
The same is true for women.

III.

Very few people I know that
have tattoos care for them
a few months later.

IV.

It goes on so long.
Idealism drives the first
with imagery and
raw truth
and the assurance that it
will
never ever
end

V.

It goes on so long.
Again happens
Everyday happens
Morning and morning
and night and night
and 2:30 and
Season 4 and
January 14 and
game 51
and back to LVL 1
happens

It goes on so long.
and it’s always the
same as it was but
never the same as
it was
It’s less pure
and more precise and
less idea
and more detail
unnecessary detail
Less foundation and more house
Less we and more you and me
Less forest and more tree
ennui
ennui
ennui
(the fact that “ennui” is
so cliché (as is the word
“cliché”) only enhances
exactly what it means)

It goes on

So long
